A Fun Opportunity

It’s not often a customer brings us a big, bright yellow canvas to work with – one that will be seen by thousands of prospective buyers every day.  But we were both fortunate and excited to have just such an opportunity arise recently.

Our client, Cabinet Factory Outlet, who specialize in remodeling kitchens, had purchased a “gently used” Ryder truck for deliveries in and around Omaha, NE.  They recognized the obvious (big, yellow, mobile) advertising opportunity and came to Rapid Graphics & Signs for their vehicle graphics.

Why Yellow Works So Well

While it may not suitable for every customer, or brand, or application, yellow is a fantastic color choice.  Yellow is highly conspicuous (it makes you look).  As you can tell from the photographs, yellow contrasts with the sky and our visual horizon. It’s also the first colour our eyes see and that our brains respond to.

Big, Yellow, Mobile – And Changeable

What was a little different (and smart) was that the client also asked us to provide a means for changing-out their marketing message 3-4 times per year – so that their fleet advertising could be integrated with their marketing calendar.

After consulting with the client, we did some research, weighed out our various options and proposed installing a banner frame system on the truck’s box sides.  The beauty of the system is that large format printed banners are about the least expensive ad media known to man, and changing out campaign graphics is relatively quick and easy – so the client’s cost of ownership is very low.
